Here we will see how to manage Whitelist and Blacklist for allowing and blocking device for a network. For understanding purpose we are taking Archer C3200 as an example.
Open a web browser in your computer. Make sure your computer is connected to the network for which you need to make change.
Now login to Archer C3200’s web based interface. For this you can enter 192.168.0.1 or tplinkwifi.net in the address bar.
Now it will ask for admin username and password, fill the fields with values and login. Default username and password is admin.
Now click the advanced tab, and then go to Security. Under Security click Access Control.
Now to manage whitelist and blacklist turn on Access Control. Choose Blacklist or whitelist you want.
Under Blacklist mode, the devices in the list cannot access your local network and also cannot access internet.
You can simply check the front box of the device that you want to block. If that device is currently connected to the routers then only that will appear there. After marking that devoice click on Block.
But if the desired device to block is not connected then you can click on Add button then manually type the MAC address of the device.
Only the devices under this list can access your local network and internet. You can add devices in similar way as did for blocking. Here you need to click Allow button to add the device.
